After 35 years my trusty Casio hand-held calculator finally died. "They don't make things like they used to," right? But I digress. Target.com is one of my favorite places to shop because of the wide variety of items in all categories and the incredibly fast service, always. So I spent a little time browsing calculators and was lucky enough to find this little TI jewel. It arrived quickly and within a few minutes of scanning the instructions and doing the set-up, I was off to the races. LOVE my new super light-weight calculator! The keypad is very comfortable, easy on the fingers, and the buttons have a nice, even touch, substantial enough to let you know when you have entered a value, yet not prone to allowing you to make a mistake. This particular model, the BAII Plus does a great job with the basics, and also has several different calculating options (such as mortgage amortization) which the user can program into memory for use at a later time. I don't need these features, but I'm sure they would be very helpful to people in certain professions. Available online at the Texas Instruments site is a detailed owner's manual which can be downloaded at no charge. This document is extremely enlightening, so I recommend it to anyone who buys this calculator. I couldn't be more pleased with my purchase ... and without hesitation give the BAII Plus 5 gold stars.
Does the job! Good little financial calculator
I bought two identical calculators to take to the CFA exam, as this is one of the two approved calculators. I have been using one non-stop for three months to practice, and before the exam, I bought an identical one just in case, because I don't know how to change their battery. The calculators are very durable, and easy to use. It can calculate standard deviation, cash flow, net present value, IRR.
